Vapor tight lights are sealed fixtures designed to operate in wet locations, damp environments, and spaces subject to dust, insects, and corrosive vapors. Cold storage facilities, food processing plants, car washes, parking garages, covered walkways, and industrial areas with chemical wash-downs all call for vapor tight fixtures rather than standard indoor LED products.
QuickShipLights carries the three main vapor tight styles: linear vapor tight lights for long continuous runs, jelly jar lights for low-clearance or pendant mount applications, and LED tri-proof lights that carry ratings for impact, dust, and water simultaneously. All three are sealed with a polycarbonate lens and gasketed housing to prevent moisture ingress.
IP65 is the standard minimum for wet locations, though food processing and wash-down environments often specify IP66 or IP69K to handle direct water spray. Wattages run from 20W compact units up to 80W linear fixtures, covering everything from a small utility closet to a long production line or tunnel. LED sources replace T8 fluorescent lamps in most retrofit scenarios, typically cutting energy use by 40 to 60 percent while eliminating lamp replacement costs.
Check that the fixture carries a UL wet location listing before installing in any area exposed to rain, condensation, or spray. For hazardous classified locations that also require vapor-tight construction, see our explosion proof lights. For dry industrial spaces with higher ceilings, LED high bay lights are the better starting point.
