About LED Corn Lamps

LED corn lamps, named for their rows of LED chips arranged around a cylindrical body, are designed to replace high-intensity discharge (HID) sources including metal halide, high-pressure sodium, and mercury vapor lamps. They fit into existing HID fixtures without requiring a new luminaire, making them one of the most cost-effective HID retrofit options.

QuickShipLights stocks corn lamps in E39 mogul base and E26 medium base configurations, covering wattages from 30W to 150W and replacing HID sources from 70W to 400W. Most require ballast bypass; the existing HID ballast must be disconnected before installation. Confirm the fixture can handle heat and airflow requirements for the specific corn lamp wattage.

Color temperatures of 4000K and 5000K are standard. Corn lamps are commonly used in wall packs, shoebox pole lights, post tops, cobraheads, and commercial canopy fixtures where the existing fixture housing is in good condition.

Compare with LED PAR Lamps and LED PL Lamps for other retrofit types. Dedicated retrofit lamp options are in LED Retrofit Lamps. For complete fixture replacements, see LED High Bay Lights.
