GU10 lamps use a twist-lock bayonet base that operates directly at line voltage (120V), without the transformer required by MR16 systems. This makes them a practical choice for track lighting systems, accent fixtures, display lighting, and retail installations where a low-voltage transformer adds cost and complexity.
The GU10 base name comes from the two pins spaced 10mm apart. The bulb itself measures 2 inches in diameter (50mm), the same profile as an MR16, making them visually similar but electrically distinct. GU10 fixtures are common in European markets and increasingly found in U.S. track systems and directional recessed fixtures.
QuickShipLights stocks GU10 LED lamps in beam angles from spot (25 degrees) to flood (45 degrees) and color temperatures of 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K. Most units replace 35W to 50W halogen GU10 equivalents at 5 to 7 watts.
