The wide beam angle, typically 110 degrees or more, makes BR lamps well suited for general ambient lighting in offices, hallways, conference rooms, and retail floor spaces. Unlike PAR lamps, which focus light into tighter beams, BR lamps spread light broadly without hot spots.
LED BR lamps are direct screw-in replacements for incandescent and CFL BR bulbs. Most operate at 9 to 14 watts, replacing 65 to 90-watt incandescent equivalents. Dimmable versions are widely available and work with most standard LED-compatible dimmers.
