About LED Undercabinet Accessories

LED undercabinet accessories are the connectors, power supplies, dimmers, and mounting hardware that complete a clean, functional undercabinet lighting installation. Selecting the right fixtures is only half the job: the accessories determine whether the system powers up correctly, dims smoothly, and looks finished rather than makeshift.

Power supplies and transformers step line voltage down to the 12V or 24V DC required by low-voltage undercabinet fixtures. Selecting the right wattage capacity is important: add up the total wattage of all fixtures on the circuit and then size the power supply to 80 percent of its rated maximum to avoid running it at full load continuously. Most low-voltage undercabinet systems use plug-in transformers for simple installations or hardwired class 2 drivers for finished cabinet applications.

Connectors allow multiple fixture segments to be linked together from a single power connection. Inline and end-to-end connector styles are available depending on the fixture brand and mounting orientation. Dimmers for undercabinet systems are typically inline or rotary-style units that wire into the low-voltage feed, and they require a dimmer-compatible driver or power supply to function correctly.

Mounting clips and channel extrusions help route wire cleanly along the underside of a cabinet and keep fixtures positioned precisely. For the fixtures themselves, see undercabinet light fixtures and puck lights. For the full undercabinet category, visit undercabinet lighting.
